Dr David B. Stevens MBE
DBS is Medical Director for the TT Races and Manx Grand Prix and Chief Medical Officer for Billown Course events including the International Southern 100 motorcycle races. The CMO for the TT and MGP is provided by a Senior Medical Officers Panel [ SMOP ] comprising Dr Heike Romer from Liverpool, Dr Gareth Davies from London HEMS and Dr Gruff Evans from the Isle of Man. DBS was CMO for the TT Races from 1988 to 2009.
DBS was the Medical Advisor to the ACU [Auto Cycle Union] and co-chairman of the Medical Panel and British Medical delegate to the International Medical Panel of the FIM [Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme] from 1999 to 2010.
He is the Secretary and a Director of the Rob Vine Fund, Registered Charity No 954 [ Isle of Man ] and secretary and coordinator for the Hogg Motorsport Association.
He was awarded the MBE in the 2003 Queen's Birthday Honours for "Services to Motor Sport Medicine in the Isle of Man".
He retired as an NHS Consultant at Noble Hospital March 2005 but continues his involvement in the provision of motorsport medical services.
